
Specialist doctors at a scientific meeting in Dhaka on Friday said that new treatments were introduced to control, manage and reduce the threats of diabetes.
As much as common people will be aware, will be able to change their food-habit, they will succeed to live a comparatively healthy life by controlling the disease, they said at the 4th National Health Network Scientific Meeting 2024 at the International Convention City of Basundhara in Dhaka.
Organised by the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, National Professor Dr AK Azad Khan, president of the association, was present as chief guest at the meeting, which was presided over by Professor Emeritus Dr Hazera Mahtab.
The NHN’s CEO Dr MA Samad delivered welcome speech at the meeting.
BADAS secretary Md Sayefuddin, executive committee member Hanif Mahtab, NHN’s advisory board members Khan Md Helal, and Rejanul Kabeer were present as special discussants at the meeting.
Dr AK Azad Khan was given special honour on behalf of NHN in the programme.
In the daylong programme, discussants spoke on diabetic control, treatment and awareness, and detailed discussions on modern diabetic treatment, management cure.Â
Azad Khan said, ‘Overcoming so many constraints, NHN is working hard to take the treatment at the threshold of the people.’
The programme was conducted by Dr Mia Md Mortoza Amin and Dr Farzana Sharmin Shila.
Doctors and organisers joined the meeting from all over the country, said a press release.
