Renowned Tagore artiste Papia Sarwar was admitted to the ICU and placed on life support at a private hospital in Dhaka following a deterioration in her health condition on Wednesday.
The Ekushey Padak-winning revered singer has been battling cancer for the past three years, said her husband Sarwar Alam.
He said the artiste is nearing the end of her life, with doctors losing hope and her family preparing for the inevitable.
