
Bangladesh have been pitted in Pool A along with Nepal, Poland, Indonesia, Malaysia, and South Korea in the 12-nation Bangabandhu Cup 2024 International Kabaddi Tournament, starting at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur today.
Pool B is comprised of Iraq, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, and Japan, as the group seeding and fixtures for the fourth edition of this tournament were finalised on Saturday.
Defending champions Bangladesh, who won all the previous titles, will start their campaign by taking on South Korea at 4:00 p.m. in one of the four matches on the opening day.
In the other games of the day, Nepal will face Malaysia at 5.00pm; Iraq will take on Japan at 6.00pm and Thailand will face Uganda at 7:00pm.
Hosts Bangladesh will face Malaysia on May 27 before competing in their remaining pool matches against Indonesia, Poland, and Nepal on May 29, 30, and 31, respectively.
At the end of the pool phase, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals to be held on June 2. The final of the tournament is scheduled to be held on June 3.
