
Veteran actor Masud Ali Khan died at his home in the capital’s Green Road on Thursday. He was 93.
He had been suffering from various complications for the past couple of years.
President of the Actors Equity Ahsan Habib Nasim said that Masud Ali Khan’s namaz-e-janaza held at Green Road Jame Masjid. ‘After zuhr prayers, he will be buried in his family graveyard at Khan Bania Para in Manikganj today.’ Born in 1931, Masud Ali Khan started his acting career on stage with one of the oldest theatre troupes in the country, Drama Circle.
He started acting on television drama with Nurul Momen’s play titled Bhai Bhai Sabai.
With Sadek Khan’s film titled Nadi O Nari, Masud Khan started his journey on the silver screen.
He was a well-known face in Bangla drama for more than five decades, by acting in various roles in about 500 productions.
He received many awards, including Shilpakala Padak in 2019 and Ekushey Padak in 2023.
