A four-day art workshop organised by the art organisation named Revert ended at the Bijoy Rakeen City in Mirpur, Dhaka on Monday.

Ten participants attended the workshop, which was conducted by artist Tanjila Sumaia Siddiqye, who demonstrated two freehand pottery techniques, including coil pottery and slab pottery.


Ramit Arko, Naushin Hammad Pushan, Nahida Rahman Meem, Sidratul Muntaha, Mumtahina Binte Sultan, Sejuti Islam, Sharmin Akater, Farah Subah Mufti, Arayan Al Mamun Ayan and Sumaya Sanjana Soiree participated in the workshop.

The closing ceremony, comprising an exhibition and certificate handover ceremony, was held on Monday.

‘People use pottery as decorative and everyday objects. Although people use utensils made from plastic and metal, pottery is still popular among people. This workshop aimed at promoting pottery among the youths,’ said Tanjila Sumaia Siddiqye.

‘We try to organise workshops, art camps and exhibitions regularly to promote art among people from all walks of life,’ said the founder and CEO of Revert Monira Begum Lipi.

‘Although people from different backgrounds participated in this workshop, they created wonderful artworks. I thank the organisers for taking the initiative to promote pottery,’ said professor of ceramics department of Dhaka University Azharul Islam Sheikh Chanchal, who distributed certificates among the participants.
