Artist Jahangir Hossain has portrayed the in-depth reality of human emotions, nature, and human figures in his solo art exhibition under way at the Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts at Badda in the capital.

With patterns of colourful illustrations and human figures formed with minimal setup, the exhibition, ‘Winds of Flavour’, based on the importance of love, respect, and the environment, is featuring 63 artworks created with acrylic and mix media on canvas between 2015 and 2024.


The displayed artworks, among others, ‘Traditional Life’, ‘Egyptian Lady’, ‘Household’, ‘Story of Silence’, ‘Village Woman’ and ‘Sad Women’ show the daily life of women in home and workplace.

The exhibition is also featuring a good number of series, including the ‘Dance’, ‘Dance Mood’, ‘Figure Composition’, ‘Figure Image’, ‘Figure Series’, ‘Moonlit Moment’ and  ‘Lady’, which depict the beauty of women and nature.

Horse Run, a mixed media on canvas, shows a man running with two horses symbolising competition of people of the world.    

Earlier, the artist has displayed artworks in a good number of solo and group exhibitions both at home and abroad.

Renowned artist Monirul Islam, the United States ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas, and ambassador of Argentina to Bangladesh Marcelo Carlos CESA, among others, were present at the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition on Friday.  

The 16-day exhibition will end on July 27.
