
Young visual artist Sayeed Sadi’s solo art exhibition is under way at the Safiuddin Shilpalay at Dhanmondi in the capital.
Created on acrylic and mixed media on canvas between 2022 and 2024, the five-day exhibition, Self Expression, is featuring 69 paintings.
The artist has depicted landscapes of rivers, forests, sunset and ocean, using textures and lines.Â
‘I think that colour speaks louder than words. I would like to say that I like to play with colours,’ said Sayeed Sadi who is also a sports journalist.
The series displayed in the exhibition titled Abstract Landscape shows the various vertical lines with colourful textures, depicting the beauty of nature.   Â
In a series, the artist also portrays the colourful presence of flowers in nature.Â
His painting titled Ocean Wave shows the beauty of aqua life.
‘As an art enthusiast, I used to visit different art exhibitions. I think an art collector not only buys artworks but also preserves those,’ added Sayeed Sadi.
Bangla Academy director general Mohammad Nurul Huda inaugurated the exhibition on Friday.
Artist Abdul Mannan and daily Desh Rupantar editor Mustafa Mamun were present as special guest at the ceremony, which was presided over by artist Abul Barak Alvi.
The exhibition will end on Thursday.
