
The ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday requested the country’s people to maintain austerity as per Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s call to the nation to do so.
‘Dear country’s people, the whole world is facing water, electricity and gas crisis. Bangladesh is not detached from this. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the nation to maintain austerity on those issues. I request the country’s people to respond to the PM’s call on austerity,’ said Quader in a video message, marking Eid-ul-Fitr.
He also greeted the country’s people on behalf of his party.
‘The power of the festivity will mobilise against all conspiracy and extremism,’ he said.
He said that the fight to build a developed, enriched and smart Bangladesh under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina would continue by overcoming all public and secret conspiracies.
Quader also urged to strengthen Sheikh Hasina’s hands to build happy, enriched, democratic, developed, and smart Bangladesh.
Speaking about the Eid journey, the minister said that they had seen human sea of homegores before Eid.
‘Many feared public suffering during the Eid journey. But, this year’s Eid journey was comparatively comfortable due to the cordial efforts and help of all,’ he claimed.
