The Awami League-led political alliance is going to hold programmes ‘protesting against anarchies’ after Eid-ul-Azha following a long gap since the general elections held on January 7.

The decision was taken on Tuesday at a meeting of the alliance at the Eskaton residence of the coordinator and spokesman of the alliance, Amir Hossain Amu.


The AL-led alliance held its last programmes before the general elections.

Emerging from the meeting, Workers Party of Bangladesh president Rashed Khan Menon told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that the meeting reached a consensus on holding programmes after Eid.

In the meantime, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader will hold meeting with the leaders of the alliance partners.

Amir Hossain Amu told reporters that some misunderstandings were created among the alliance partners centring the parliamentary elections.

‘We shall hold more meetings of the alliance to remove the misunderstandings and will take programmes of the alliance after Eid protesting against the ‘anarchies of the opposition parties’ against the government,’ Amu also the advisory council member of Awami League said.

Awami League president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina on May 23 held a meeting with the partners of the alliance at Ganabhaban where she told that the activities of the alliance would be continued.

Jatiya Party-JP chairman Anwar Hossain Monju, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasod president Hasanul Haq Inu, general secretary Shirin Akhter, Bangladesh Tariqat Federation president Nojibul Bashar Maizbhandai, Gonoazadi League president SK Sikder, Ganatantri Party president Shahadat Hossain, Communist Kendra joint convener Asit Baran Roy and others attended the meeting.
