The Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh, a partner of Ganatantra Mancha, observed 20th founding anniversary with the vow to restore democracy on Friday.

Leaders of the party marked the occasion placing a wreath at Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka.

Later, a short rally was held where general secretary of the party Saiful Huq said that the ruling Awami League government was engulfed in corruption. Therefore, former army chief Aziz Ahmed and former IGP Benazir Ahmed could obtain wealth through corruption and abuse of power.

‘We will continue our movement to restore democracy in the country,’ added Saiful.

Central party leaders Bannishikha Jamali, Akbar Khan, Jamal Sikder and others also spoke at the rally.

According to a press release, the party will organise a get-together at its central office at Segun Bagicha in Dhaka on June 28.
