Leaders of the Communist Party of Bangladesh called on the ruling Awami League to take immediate steps against mass corruption at a rally held in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The CPB organised the rally at Purana Paltan crossing protesting against corruption.


General secretary of the party Ruhin Hossain Prince called on the government to take immediate steps against mass corruption at the rally.

He referred to the alleged corruption of former IGP of the police Benazir Ahmed and former army chief Aziz Ahmed and called on the government to form a commission to prevent corruption and siphoning money off from the country.

He also announced that the CPB would organise anti-corruption rallies at upazilas across the country on July 6.

Besides, central leaders of the party Sajedul Huq Rubel, Joly Talukder, Kazi Ruhul Amin and others spoke at the rally, which was chaired by the acting president of the party Shahin Rahman.

Later, the CPB held a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
