Jatiya Party chairman and leader of the opposition in the parliament Ghulam Muhammed Quader on Wednesday said that the ruling Awami League government should take drastic actions against the corrupt people to stop corruptions in the country.
There are people’s perceptions that the AL government is patronising the corrupt people and most of them are the ruling party men, said GM Quader while talking to reporters at the party’s Banani office in the capital.
‘We have seen in the past that the government had taken steps against the corrupt people involved in the Casino game. But they are free now,’ said Quader.
Mentioning the role of the Anti-Corruption Commission is controversial, Quader said, ‘They mostly take steps against the people of the opposition political parties.’
The government should take steps against the politicians as they handle power and they can check corruptions if they want, he said, adding that the government should ensure good governance in the country and check corruptions of all spheres.
