The Jatiya Party in a meeting on Wednesday decided to co-operate the interim government headed by Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus to improve the law and order of the country.

The decision was taken at a presidium members meeting of the party at the chairman鈥檚 office in Banani in the capital.聽


Resolution of the meeting said that the Jatiya Party would co-operate the interim government for improving law and order of the country so that the interim government could hold a free, fair and credible general election.

Chaired by party chairman Ghulam Muhamad Quader, senior co-chairman Anisul Islam Mahmud, secretary general Mujibul Haque Chunnu, co-chairman ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, presidium members Salma Islam and Jahirul Islam Jahir spoke at the meeting.

The Awami League president Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister on August 5 and fled to India amid a mass uprising spearheaded by students.
