The Workers Party of Bangladesh, an ally of the Awami League-led alliance, will observe the Anti-Terrorism Day to mark the 32nd anniversary of the attempt on the life of its president Rashed Khan Menon today.

A group of unidentified attackers shot Menon at close range in front of his party鈥檚 central office at Topkhana Road on August 17, 1992.

He was seriously wounded and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital first and then shifted to Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka.

Menon also took treatment at Kings College Hospital in London and then at a Bangkok hospital. He returned home on January 10, 1993 after recovery.

The Workers Party will observe the day demanding to stop sectarian attacks across the country, a party press release said.
