Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Monday served show-cause notice on its standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed and joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokon for breaching party discipline.
Several BNP central official leaders confirming the matter said that Salahuddin has come under criticism for using controversial S Alam Group鈥檚 car at a reception in Chittagong.
However, in a press conference on Monday afternoon, he mentioned the matter of using S Alam鈥檚 car as an 鈥榰nintentional mistake鈥�.
Meanwhile, BNP joint secretary general Khairul Kabir was criticised on various charges, including grabbing of business and lands in Narsingdi.
Earlier on Sunday, BNP issued show-cause notices to three leaders of Chittagong South District Unit for helping to remove 14 luxury cars used by the family of Saiful Alam Masud, chairman of S Alam Group.
The accused leaders are Chittagong south district convener Abu Sufian, joint convener Enamul Haque Enam and Karnaphuli unit BNP convener SM Mamun Mia.
