Dhaka Metropolitan Police detective branch arrested former Awami League lawmaker for Barguna-1 constituency Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu in Uttara, Dhaka on Monday evening.
The DMP DB joint commissioner Rabiul Islam said that the former lawmaker was arrested at about 7:30pm on Monday.
鈥楾he team that arrested him is yet to reach our office,鈥� he added.
Shambhu was elected as lawmaker with AL party tickets in 1991, 1996, 2008, 2014 and 2018.
