Rastra Sanskar Juba Andolan on Saturday protested at the miscreants’ attack on the July movement leader Md Ariful Islam and demanded punishment for the attackers immediately.
An RSJA press statement detailed that a meeting of RSJA was held on Saturday evening at the Tongibazar area in Gazipur, where the leaders of RSJA’s Gazipur city and thana units were present.
Ariful Islam, a convener of the RSJA’s Tongi East Police Station unit and also one of the key leaders of the July Movement, was attacked while he was returning home from the meeting, alleged the press release.
The release claimed that Sohan, son of Tongi ward Awami League unit leader Azhar Bepari, and his aides carried out the attack on Ariful as he was active in the July Movement and his stance against corruption of Sohan’s father in the area.
In the statement, Mashkur Ratul, chief coordinator of Rastra Sankar Juba Andolan, said that ‘The fascist AL’s allies are still active at the local level, which is ominous for the nation.’
‘But it is impossible to stop the fight to bury the fascism by such attacks on us. We will resist them from our position,’ he added.
A complaint was lodged with Tongi East Police Station over the incident, said the statement, demanding immediate exemplary punishment for the attackers.
