Trading of the shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange will be conducted from 10:00am to 1:50pm from today, officials said.

In July 24-25, the bourse operated from 11.00am to 2.00pm due to the curfew imposed by the government and reduced banking hours.

The regular trading hours on the DSE are from 10.00am to 2.20pm.

The websites of the DSE, the CSE and the Central Depository Bangladesh Limited were taken offline on Friday following a cyber-threat alert.

Satvik Ahmed Shah, acting managing director of the DSE, told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that the instruction to take the web site offline came from the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission.

‘We came to know that cyber threats were likely on Friday and Saturday. To protect the market data, as well as our machinery, we took protective measures,’ he said.

CSE managing director Saifur Rahman Majumder told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that the CSE web site was operating, but, some other connections were currently closed.

Satvik said that the Dhaka bourse’s web site would be online by Saturday evening.
