The five-member Bangladesh tennis team is scheduled to leave home for Sri Lanka today to take part in the 13-nation ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championship 2025 to be held in Colombo from January 13 to 24.

The competition will be held in two phases with Bangladesh team competing the first phase campaign from January 13 to 17 before the second phase campaign from January 19 to 23.


The under-14 boys and girls from Bangladesh, hosts Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Macao, Mongolia, Philippine, Singapore and Timor-Leste will compete in the championship.

Bangladesh team comprised two boys – Kabbo Gayan of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan and Akash Hossain of National Tennis Complex – two girls - Humayra Haider Zara of NTC and Jannat Howlader of Madaripur Tennis Club - and the captain Raznita Chowdhury, an ITF level-1 certified tennis coach.

However, the championship will run under the management of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association with the approval of the International Tennis Federation.
