Theatre troupe Nagorik Natyangan Ensemble staged its production titled ‘Eurydice’ at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Wednesday.

Eurydice revolves around the love story of Orpheus and Eurydice.
The play is based on the famous Greek mythological stories of Orpheus and Eurydice. The three characters, namely, Orpheus, Eurydice and Henri are the leading characters in the play.
Although the play is based on Greek mythological stories, the characters of the play depict modern times. Orpheus and Eurydice are lovers in the play. Eurydice dies in an accident.
Henri says that he will bring Eurydice back to life on one condition: Orpheus cannot look into her eyes till sunrise. But Orpheus fails to do that. He accepts his death and the two lovers reunite in the afterlife.
