Journalist Md Jahangir Alam Hriday was awarded ‘Chandrakala Theatre Medal 2024’ at the Dania Studio Theatre Hall in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area.
Chandrakala Theatre Dhaka organised the award giving ceremony and the 300th show of ‘Ajab Box Natok’ with slogan ‘Let truth be risen with courage in the light of the stage’ on Friday, said a press release.
The medal was handed over to Jahangir Alam by the honoured guests of the event president of the Actors Association Ahsan Habib Nasim, general secretary, Bangladesh Street Theatre Council Ahmed Giyas, international editor of Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation Chanchal Saikat, former footballer and coach Khushi Chakma, actor Tapan Majumder, president of Donia Sangskritik Jote Abu Azad, president of Adi Dhaka Sangskritik Jote Baburam Da, president of Donia library Md Shahnewaz, general secretary HR Anik, and party leaders of about 27 parties, including Daniya Sangskritik Jote.
Jahangir Alam Hriday of Chandpur’s Shahrasti Upazila, is the founding president of Shahrasti Aparupa Natyagosti Youth and Women Cultural Organisation and Saudi Arabia Riyadh Bangladesh Theatre. He is also a life member of Chandpur Press Club, and vice-president of Shahrasti Press Club.
