
The first death anniversary of freedom fighter and Gonoshasthy Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury was observed on Thursday.
To mark the day, his family members and employees of Gonoshasthya Kendra placed floral wreaths at his grave in Gonoshashthy Kenra premises in Savar in the morning.
Besides, Gonoshashthy Kenra and Gono Bishyabidayloy took detailed programmes to mark the noted freedom fighter鈥檚 first death anniversary.
The Programmes include a commemoration meeting on April 23 at Gono Bishyabidayloy auditotirm in Savar at 11:00am, a commemoration meeting on April 25 at Gonoshashthya Nagar Hospital in capital鈥檚 Dhanmondi at 11:00am and another commemoration meeting at Gonoshashya Kendra in Cox鈥檚 Bazar at 11:00am on April 28, a press release of Gonoshasthya Kendra said.
As the country celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday, different political parties would organise programmes later to mark the day, sources in Ganatantra Mancha said.
Zafrullah, also former chairman of Bhashani Onusari Parishad, died at Gonosashaya Nagar Hospital in Dhaka on this day in 2023.
His body was buried in Gonoshashthy Kenra premises in Savar.
He left his wife, one daughter and a son to mourn his death.
Zafrullah established a field hospital in India during liberation war of 1971, for the treatments of the wounded freedom fighters.聽 聽
