Bangladesh left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam revealed that he received a proposal to play for Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League but he had to miss out on it due to the national team’s fixtures.
According to him, he overlooked the offer from the franchise with the forthcoming Zimbabwe series in mind as the Bangladesh Cricket Board was not willing to issue a no-objection letter for the full IPL season.
‘I got a text from Lucknow. They wanted me but the period of the NOC was very short, which is why they didn’t contact me further,’ Shoriful said on Thursday in Mipur.
‘If the BCB would give me the NOC for the entire season, then it would have been possible. However, considering the Zimbabwe series they issued me the NOC in that manner.’
Zimbabwe are scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on April 28 to feature in a five-match T20I series which will be played on May 3, 5, 7, 10, and 12.
