A farmer died of snake bite while he was going to latrine at his house in Chilmari upazila of Kurigram on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Azam Ali, 35, son of Mazammel Haque of Lalachamar Char of Austormirchar union of the upazila.
Local people and eyewitnesses said that Azam was going to latrine from his house in the night without any torch. On his way, a poisonous snake bit on his leg.
Later, family members and villagers rushed to the spot as Azam shouted loudly.
Azam was immediately sent to Chilmari upazila health complex in a critical condition where the attending doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-charge of Dhushmara police station Abu Sayem Miah confirmed the matter.
