Nineteen district-level leaders, including presidents and general secretaries from the Bangladesh Awami League, the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party, and Jatiya Party, have recently completed Democracy International's Senior Leaders Fellowship Programme.

Graduation certificates and crests were awarded to the leaders at an event held in Cox鈥檚 Bazar on Monday, said a press release on Wednesday.听

Under USAID's Strengthening Political Landscape project, the ninth batch of high-ranking district-level leaders graduated from this multiparty fellowship initiative designed to enhance their leadership and political skills.

The graduating fellows have received intensive training on various topics, including the role of political parties in democracy, internal party democracy, campaign management, the voting process, and the inclusion of women in politics.

To date, 220 senior leaders from the three parties have completed this graduation.

In her closing remarks, Dana L Olds, chief of party at Democracy International, expressed her hope that the leaders would take proactive steps to empower women and youth while also nurturing the mutual relationships forged during the fellowship programme.
