One sailor went missing and eleven others were rescued as a Dhaka-bound cargo ship from Chattogram port sank with 12 sailors at Hatiya in Noakhali.
Nalchira River outpost inspector Mehedi Zaman said that the cargo ship, MV Mamoni, sank at about 12:00 noon near Islampur Char at Hatiya due to rough weather.
A team of Hatiya Coast Guard and two teams of Nalchira River police rushed to the spot and rescued eleven sailors, he said.
鈥楬owever, coast guard members informed me that one of the 12 sailors went missing. They are trying to rescue him,鈥� added the Rive police officer.
