
Doctors, officials and staffs of Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital on Thursday at a commemoration meeting said that Zafrullah Chowdhury wanted to ensure health services for the poor people at cheaper costs. Â
Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital at Dhanmondi organised the commemoration meeting at its auditorium to mark the first anniversary of freedom fighter and physician Zafrullah who died on April 11, 2023, at the hospital at the age of 82. Â
Chairperson of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Trustee board Altafunnessa Maya said that Zafrullah founded Gonoshasthaya Kendra to ensure health services for the poor at cheaper costs. Â
He also founded Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital at Dhanmondi to give health services to the common people and the urban poor, Altafunnessa said.Â
The doctors and staff of the hospital said that Zafrullah had established a big dialysis centre at the hospital to give dialysis services to the kidney patients at cheaper costs.Â
Trustees of the board Abul Quahem Chowdhury, Shireen Huq, Rizoana Chowdhury and others attended the programme.   Â
Gonoshasthaya Kendra held a commemoration meeting at the Kendra auditorium on Tuesday to mark the death anniversary of Zafruulah, the founder of the organisation.
