
At least 105 women and 88 girls were victims of violence across the country in April, according to a report, released by the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad on Thursday.
Of the victims, 43, including 35 girls, were raped while 15 of them were gang raped and three were murdered after rape in the month, said a press release.
The report, prepared based on news items in 16 national dailies, revealed that 14 women and two girls were subjected to physical assault while nine women and girls faced sexual harassment.
A total of 15 women and girls died mysteriously while 15 others committed suicide and 33 were murdered for various reasons.
Two girls and women were victims of stalking while two trafficked and three women and girls were abducted.
The report also revealed that two women and girls were tortured for dowry while one woman was murdered for the same reason.
Three house helps were physically tortured while another was murdered.
A total of five women and girls were victims of cyber-crime, according to the report.
