
Filmmaker Proshoon Rahman is making preparations for making his next feature film based on an immigrant titled ‘Shekar’.
He made the announcement at a press conference held in Eskaton, Dhaka on Thursday.
His forthcoming film, scheduled to be produced by Imation Creator, is a story of looking back at Bangladesh and its roots as seen through the eyes of an immigrant who moved from Bangladesh to a developed country in the process of external migration.
Proshoon Rahman told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that he liked to make films on migration, identity crises, dreams and delusions.
‘The film, based on a novel by writer Sanaul Mostafa, will also shed light on how a person tries to restore a broken relationship,’ he said.
Fs Nayeem and Tahiya Tazeen Khan Aisha will portray lead roles in the film.
The film’s shooting will begin in Dhaka today. After that, the film’s shooting will take place in Gazipur, Rajshahi and Kushtia.
‘We will complete the shooting in 3 phases by June,’ said Proshoon, adding that the film would try to present contemporary issues, keeping in mind the new generation audience.
‘The film will also feature a few songs,’ he mentioned.
The film will also star, among others, Dilara Zaman, Sangeeta Chowdhury, Faruk Sobhan, Somu Chowdhury, Shahriar Ferdous Sazeeb, Nafis Ahmed, Nairuz Sifat, Fatema Tuj Johra Eva, Amelia and Baidya Nath Saha.
Proshoon Rahmaan’s works include ‘Sutopar Thikana’, ‘Jonmobhumee’, ‘Dhaka Dream’ ‘Priya Satyajit’, ‘Nigrohokal, ‘March to December’, ‘Ballad of Rohingya People’ ‘Rice & Pray’, ‘Fera’, ‘Nodi O Nirmata’ and ‘Ei Puraton Akhorguli’.
