The chairman of Manarat International University Board of Trustees and the mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Md Atiqul Islam said that education had no value without acquiring human qualities.

The mayor said these as a chief guest while inaugurating the Baisakhi festival and Eid reunion organised by the Manarat International University Cultural Club on the Ashulia campus on the outskirts of Dhaka on Saturday, said a press release.


In addition to the performance of Gambhira, music, comedy performances, poetry recitation and drama, pitha-puli, chatpati-fuska, pickles, and various Bengali traditional food products and hand and craft exhibitions were also organised.

Guests, teachers, students, officials, and employees were dressed in folk and Baisakhi costumes.

A cultural programme was also organised where students from different departments performed.

The university vice-chancellor (acting) professor Muhammad Abdus Sabur Khan, MIU board of trustee member Sadeka Halim, registrar Md Moazzam Hossain, National University VC professor Md Moshiur Rahman, National Institute of Mental Health associate professor Dr Mekhla Sarker, Bangladesh Mahila Samiti member Israt Jahan Nasreen were present at the events.
