A tractor driver was killed in an accident on Monday night at Gurdaspur upazila in Natore.
The victim, identified as Badal Pramanik, 35, resided in the Godown Ghat area of Singra upazila, Natore.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened around 8:30 pm in Masinda Charpara village during digging a pond by landowners Abdul Latif and Abul Kalam Azad.
Badal was assisting in the excavation, standing beside a tractor that was cutting soil, when another tractor arriving to collect the soil crushed him. Following the incident, all involved parties fled the scene, leaving Badal鈥檚 body.
Local people later found Badal鈥檚 body in a pool of blood. They immediately notified the authorities concerned. Ujjal Hossain, the officer-in-charge of Gurdaspur Police Station, confirmed the details of the event.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police quickly arrived at the scene, where they recovered the body and seized one of the tractors involved. Officer Hossain reported that they were trying to arrest those involved in the incident.
