Defending champions Mohammedan Sporting Club reached the Federation Cup final after they came from a goal down to beat Police Football Club 2-1 in the first semi-final at the Birshreshtha Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Tuesday.

For Mohammedan, Nigerian midfielder Emmanuel Sunday and midfielder Sahariar Emon scored one goal each after Uzbekistan defender Akhrorbek Uktamov gave Police FC the lead.


Mohammedan, who won the Federation Cup after fourteen years last season, will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Limited on May 14 in Gopalganj.

The final of the tournament is scheduled to be held at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on May 21.

Following a scoreless first half, Uktamov broke the deadlock in the 47th minute with a header off a free-kick by Venezuelan attacker Edward Morillo.

Sunday equalised for Mohammedan in the 68th minute with a placing shot. Emon clinched the victory in the 79th minute with a header from Emmanuel鈥檚 cross from well outside the box.

Mohammedan earlier confirmed their place in the last-four by defeating Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra 2-1 in the first quarter-final.
