
The 45th National Science and Technology Week and Science and Technology Fair-2024 has been held in 28 districts of the country till Wednesday, said a press release.
Young students and scientists are displaying various projects at the science fair which started on April 22 with the funding and patronage of the National Museum of Science and Technology.
Participants are displaying projects in three categories, including Junior, Senior and Special at the fair, which will be gradually held in all districts of the country.
The top projects from upazila-level fairs are being displayed in district-level fairs.
About 800 different projects have been displayed at the event to date.
The projects address various topics, including the modern use of robotics, the scientific use of solar electricity, the use of modern technology to prevent house fires and road accidents, environment-friendly urbanisation, the prevention of fire accidents, the use of technology in modern communication systems and others.
Apart from the science fair, science olympiads, science quizzes and science meet-seminars are being held as part of the event.
Director general of the National Museum of Science and Technology, Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, said, ‘We are working to promote science among the youths to protect them from social degradation and transform Bangladesh into a modern and science-friendly nation.’
‘One of the goals of organising science fairs is to improve the quality of life of people by applying the invented projects in various sectors. We plan to organise science fairs on small scales throughout the year,’ he added.
