Leaders of Amar Bangladesh Party, on Saturday at a protest rally in Dhaka, urged the government to shut down quick rental system in power generation.

They said that the Awami League government had failed to stop corruptions in power sector. As a result, people were not getting sufficient power supply.


In rural areas, people were not getting continuous power supply even during the heatwave, they added.

The government was continuing with quick rental system in power sector by which some pro-government businesspeople were getting unusual benefits, they alleged.

The leaders called on the government to take immediate measures to stop corruptions in power sector and the quick rental system in power production.

The rally, held at the central office at Bijoynagar, where joint convener of the party Abdul Wahab Minar chaired.

Member secretary of the party Mojibur Rahman Monju, central leaders Tajul Islam, Asaduzzaman Fuad and others spoke at the rally.

The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
