South Korean ambassador Park Young-sik has聽expressed his country鈥檚 keen interest to invest in the jute and 濒别补迟丑别谤听蝉别肠迟辞谤s of Bangladesh for mutual benefits of both the countries.聽
鈥楴ow South Korea is keen to develop both the country鈥檚 success in jute and聽leather sectors,鈥� he said, while making a courtesy call on textile minister聽Jahangir Kabir Nanak at his secretariat office in the city on Sunday.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Nanak said that the envoy praised the聽Bangladeshi government for the development in different sectors.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of various development聽projects of Bangladesh鈥檚 textiles and jute sectors.
The Korean ambassador greeted prime minister Sheikh Hasina on the formation聽of the government for the fourth consecutive term.聽
鈥榃e are encouraging Korean companies to invest in various projects of聽Bangladesh,鈥� he said, adding that therefore, efforts were being made to聽increase Korean investment in other sectors besides the jute and 濒别补迟丑别谤听蝉别肠迟辞谤s.聽
The ambassador sought the minister鈥檚 cooperation to reduce their tariff and聽to extend validity of the visas to those who are working in Bangladesh.聽
The textiles and jute minister assured the ambassador that he will try to聽solve these problems by discussing with the concerned ministries and聽departments.
