Shakib Al Hasan worked on his batting for more than an hour following Bangladesh鈥檚 defeat to Zimbabwe in the final Twenty20 International of their five-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.

The all-rounder batted on the centre wicket of the SBNS under the supervision of Bangladesh batting coach David Hemp, and was seen having long discussions during and after the session.

Shakib has been having a troubled time with the bat since the ICC 2023 World Cup, and it was later revealed that the reason behind it was a retinal condition in his left eye.

He was seen struggling earlier this year during the 2024 Bangladesh Premier League, although he managed to score more than 200 runs by the end.

However, Shakib has struggled against pacers regularly since his eye issues, and he failed to make any solid contribution with the bat in the two matches he played against Zimbabwe, scoring just one and 21.

The approaching T20 World Cup might be the reason behind the all-rounder working on his batting.

Liton Das, who was left out of the XI in the final two T20Is against Zimbabwe, was also seen batting in the nets after Shakib completed his session.
