The Bangladesh Sports Press Association held a programme to commemorate late journalist and former BSPA president Ziaul Haque at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium in the city on Wednesday.

During the programme, the discussants put emphasis on honouring the renowned and virtuous persons in their lifetimes instead of praising them on a high note after their deaths.聽


Ziaul, who passed away on April 29, 2024, at the age of 82, served the BSPA as its president from 1988 to 1991 and was also a senior member of Jatiya Press Club.

He last served as the senior assistant editor of the Daily Ittefaq and also worked in a number of national dallies including defunct Purbodash.聽
