A black stone idol of Hindu Lord Vishnu was recovered from Uttar Betka village in Munshiganj鈥檚 Tongibari upazila on Friday.
The idol measures about 37 inches in length and 17 inches in width.
Tongibari upazila nirbahi officer Aslam Hossain said that two labourers, who were digging a pond, spotted the idol at about 11:30am.
The idol will be handed over to the treasury of the deputy commissioner office, said the officer.
