Foreign minister Hasan Mahmud on Tuesday said that the Bangladesh mission in Washington was earlier informed about the United States restrictions on entry of ex-chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed and his family members to the United States over corruption.
‘The entry restrictions have been imposed over corruption under a separate act; it is not related to the US visa policy announcement for Bangladesh,’ the FM told reporters at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity.
He said that Bangladesh was engaged with US in fight against corruption.
Asked what the government would do in this particular case, the minister said that he wouldn’t say anything about that since it was a matter of the Bangladesh Army.
