A daylong youth tech summit was held on Wednesday at the Krishibid Institution auditorium in Dhaka as a joint initiative of 14 organisations working with the youth in the country.

The main theme of this tech summit was ‘Are we Ready for AI?’, said a press release.


The main attraction of the event was the speech of 20 successful and very young, age between 25 to 35 years, entrepreneurs. Using new technologies, especially artificial intelligence, the entrepreneurs started to make huge improvements in important sectors like agriculture, health and education sectors.

PRAN Group Chairman Ahsan Khan Chowdhury told the youth that they would create the future of the country. He said that PRAN Group is considering providing funding support to young IT entrepreneurs.

Fahim Mashroor, head of BdJobs, said, ‘Only young people can lead new technologies like AI. He said that no new tax should be imposed on these entrepreneurs in the next budget.’

Shamim Ahsan, managing director of e-Generation, said to the government, ‘We don’t want grants or free money. We want an environment conducive to global competition.’

For this, he suggested to exempt taxes for the next three years and gradually impose taxes at a tolerable rate.
