
The Armed Police Battalion arrested a member of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army in possession of local and foreign arms and ammunitions during a raid at Ukhia camp in Cox鈥檚 Bazar on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrested is Abdullah, 30, a resident of block D-51 of Rohingya camp-3 under Ukhia upazila.
14 APBn Co-captain and police Superintendent Md Arefin Jewel, in a press briefing on Thursday, said that, acting on a tip-off, one ARSA member was arrested with local and foreign weapons after raiding the聽 Rohingya camp-20 in Ukhia.
During the drive, 2 foreign pistols, 1 local large one-shooter gun, 2 medium-size one-shooter guns, 22 rifle rounds, 1 short gun cartridge, 20 rifle shells, 3 pistol shells were recovered.聽
The police super added that there are eight murder cases and one kidnapping and extortion case lodged against the member of ARSA, active in the Arakan State of Myanmar.
The arrested was handed over to Ukhia police station along with the seized arms and ammunitions, said the APBn official.
