The police on Friday detained a person named Mehedi Hasan Tamim, 27, from the Bhanga area in Faridpur, on charges of stealing $40,000 from an engineer鈥檚聽 house in Dhaka.

On information given by Mehedi, $40,000 were recovered from the septic tank of the toilet at his home at Raipara Sadardi village in Bhanga.


Mamun Al Rashid, officer-in-charge of Bhanga police station, told 抖阴精品 that they detained Mehedi during a drive on Friday morning from his house and recovered the stolen dollars from the septic tank.

The police officer said that Mehdi, son of late Altaf Kazi, worked as an electrician in Dhaka.

On May 22, he went to the residence of engineer SM Touhiduzzaman to do electrical work, and while working there, he found 40,000 dollars there and stole the currency.

Tauhiduzzaman, who is working as an engineer at Bashundhara Group, kept the dollars at home to send those to his younger brother in Australia, the police officer said.

Mehedi fled to Bhanga in Faridpur along with the dollars.

Later, based on the written complaint of the engineer with a police station in Dhaka, police conducted a drive at Mehedi鈥檚 village home and detained him.

A case was filed with the police station against him in this regard.
