Leaders of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD commemorated Humayun Kabir Hiru on Friday, recognising his significant contributions to organising JSD as a political party.

The JSD organised a condolence meeting at the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka, where senior vice president Tania Rob highlighted that Humayun Kabir’s contributions would be remembered in the history of JSD.

‘In the current context, where the government has introduced a fascist rule and seized the voting rights of the people, leaders like Hiru are needed to restore democratic rule in the country,’ Tania Rob stated.

Central leaders of the party, including Kamal Uddin Patwary, Moshrraf Hossain Montu, Fatema Hena, Kamal Uddin Saju, and others also spoke at the commemoration meeting.

Humayun Kabir Hiru, a former JSD leader and former lawmaker, passed away last Friday at his village home in Barguna at the age of 72.
