The Rapid Action Battalion arrested 11 robbers from Jatrabaria area on Thursday evening as they were preparing to commit a robbery.
鈥楢 contingent of the RAB-10 detained the members of the robber gang from South Jatrabari area at about 10:30pm on Thursday evening after conducting a combing operation,鈥� said assistant police super and assistant director (media) of the RAB-10 M J Sohel.
The arrested are prime suspect M Rakib Hossen, 20, M Yasin, 20, M Swajib, 28, M Raihan alias Hridoy, 28, Akash Maji, 19, Swajib, 19, Rabbi Hossen, 26, Mostakim, 28, M Rahad, 27, Santo Ahmed, 25, and M Ali, 25.
The RAB seized local weapons including a knife, one machete, two long knives, one Hashua and five mobile phones from their possessions.
According to the primary interrogation, the RAB said they were committing different types of criminal activities including theft, snatching and extortions in different areas across the country, including Jatrabari.
