Transport movement through听Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel in Chattogram has been suspended as cyclone Remal may make landfall on Bangladesh coast this evening.
State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Mohibur Rahman made the announcement after an inter-ministerial meeting on cyclone management at the Secretariat on Sunday.
He said that no vehicles will be allowed to ply the tunnel from the evening of Sunday (May 26) to Monday (May 27) morning.
Meanwhile, the maritime ports of Mongla and Payra have been asked to hoist great danger signal number 10, while Chattogram and Cox's Bazar seaports have hoisted great danger signal number 9.
