
The services of metro rail remained suspended for about two and half hours on Monday morning due to technical problems and rain, said officials of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited.
The services remained suspended from 7:30am till 10:00am, they also said.
The passengers, especially the students and office going people, faced huge suffering due to the disruptions in the services on the 20.1-kilometre-long Uttara–Motijheel route.

DMTCL Mass Rapid Transit Line 6 project official Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that due to power cable problem and heavy rain the services came to a halt at about7:30am.
Another official of the project from Uttara station said that at about 7:30am the power of the overhead catenary system of metro rail’s Mirpur 11 to Bijoysarani section went off.
After 10:00am trains again started from Uttara Diabari station, he added.
Hundreds of people were seen gathered at the stations’ locked entrances.
They also expressed their frustration over the disruption in the services.
Just one day ago on Saturday the services of metro rail remained suspended for about 15 minutes due to problems with the tracks.
On March 31, the services of metro rail remained suspended for about two hours due to thunderstorm and falling plastic litter on the overhead catenary.
On March 19, metro rail services were suspended for about half an hour as some passengers allegedly blocked the doors of some compartments.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina launched the Mass Rapid Transit Line-6 project, popularly known as the metro rail, on the 11.73-kilometre-long Uttara–Agargaon section on December 28, 2022.
On November 4, 2023, the prime minister inaugurated the service from Agargaon to Motijheel.
