
Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport resumed all the flight operations at about 5:00am on Monday after the flight operation remained halted since Sunday afternoon amid heavy rain due to cyclone Remal.
Flight operations at the airport remained closed from Sunday afternoon because of the hostile weather and signals imposed by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Airport director Group Captain Taslim Ahmad confirmed the news on Monday.
He said that the airport authorities opened the runway at about 5:00am and three flights — two international flights and one domestic flight — had already landed at the airportby that time. Â
‘To avoid any unwanted accidents due to bad weather triggered by Cyclone Remal, we suspended all of our flight schedules from Sunday afternoon till 5:00 am Monday,’ he added.
Taslim also said that due to the Heavy rain and clouds, some flights landed at Dhaka airport; otherwise, everything was fine.
