The ferry movement in between Paturia-Daulatdia and Aricha-Kazirhat routes remained suspended since Sunday night due to gusty weather Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation Paturia Ghat sources said.
BIWTC Paturia ghat deputy general manager Shah Mohammad Khaled Newaz told BSS that the ferry movement at both the ghats Paturia-Daulatdia and Aricha-Kazirhat remained suspended since 9:00pm on Sunday according to the direction of the higher authorities.
DGM Khaled Newaz said a total of 250 trucks, 11 buses and 30 other cars were seen waiting at the ghat for ferrying, but they were not given tickets and asked to take an alternative way, adding that the ferry movements in between Paturia-Daulatdia and Aricha-Kazirhat would remain suspend until further direction from the BIWTC authorities.
Meanwhile all other engine driven and country boats are remaining suspended both the ghats.
