Additional inspector general of police Md Harun Ar Rashid has been appointed as the new director general of the Rapid Action Battalion, the elite force of the Bangladesh Police.
A gazette notification, signed by deputy secretary Md Mahabub Rahman Sheikh of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, was issued to this end on Wednesday.
According to the notification, the order will come into effect on June 5.
Harun Ar Rashid will replace the existing RAB DG M Khurshid Hossain.
