
Defending champions Bangladesh earned their third consecutive win in the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament after beating Indonesia 59-19 with five lonas in their Pool A match at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.
Bangladesh dominated the first half by 35-2 points with three lonas.
Bangladesh raider Mizanur Rahman collected 18 points to become the man of the match.
Bangladesh, who are also the winners of the past three editions, earlier defeated South Korea by 67-22 points before beating Malaysia by 73-22 points. Â
Bangladesh will play against Poland today before facing Nepal on Friday to complete their pool phase.
Bangladesh coach Abdul Jalil was hopeful that his charges would advance into the semi-finals as pool champions.
‘We have won three games and are hopeful of playing in the semi-finals as group champions... Our ultimate goal is to win the tournament’s fourth trophy,’ said Jalil after the day’s match.
